How to Use Autonomous "Drone" Mode

Autonomous Mode (sometimes called Drone Mode) allows the Wave to continue surveying even after it has been disconnected from your mobile device.

Step 1: Create a New Survey

Create a new survey and QR code as you normally would.

Step 2: Set Up the Wave

1. Open the Survey Micro-App on the Wave.

2. Go to the Options tab.

3. Toggle the Automatic slider to enable Autonomous Mode.

   • If you do not see the slider, email support@sidos.com with your Wave’s ID and request access.

Step 3: Survey and Upload the Data

1. Connect your Wave to your computer with a USB cable.

2. Start the survey recording.

3. Once recording has started, you can unplug the USB cable and continue surveying as usual.

4. Important: Do not stop the recording until you reconnect the USB cable.

5. When the USB cable is reattached, stop the recording.

6. Upload the data to the cloud as normal.
