Mesh App Quick Start Guide
Step 1 - Getting started:
- Connect and power up the base station gateway
- Power up Sidos Wave and launch the Mesh app.
Step 2 - Locking onto the Gateway:
- Touch the Wave to the Gateway. Once the Wave is near the pod, the information from the pod will populate the screen.
-
The top horizontal signal bars indicate the strongest signal available to the end-user device (such as a phone, computer, or tablet). The first bar shows the signal strength of the 2.4 GHz band, and the second bar shows the signal strength of the 5 GHz band.
-
As you deploy more pods, the signal strength will always change to display the strongest signal at your specific location and the pod associated with that signal (GW, P1, P2, etc.)
- The bar graph shows the relative signal strength of each pod. As additional pods are added, they will appear in the order in which they are paired with the Wave.
Step 3 - Adding additional Pods:
Vertical bars are color-coded to help you add additional pods.
RED
- The signal is -46 dB or stronger - the pod is too close, and placing another pod is not recommended.
- The signal is -75 dB or weaker - the pod is too far, and placing another pod is not recommended.
GREEN
- The signal is between -46 dB and -65 dB - this is the ideal range for adding an additional pod.
YELLOW
- The signal is between -66 dB and -75 dB
Adding pods
Walk the site to ensure coverage meets Midco requirements. If areas do not meet these requirements, backtrack to an area where at least one pod is in the green range and install a new pod.
Once this additional pod boots, touch the Sidos Wave to it. The Wave should lock onto the pod, which will appear as a new vertical bar in the series.
Repeat the process until coverage requirements are met.
