Understanding Wave Firmware Downgrades
Occasionally, your Sidos Wave may downgrade when switching between projects. This is expected behavior and ensures compatibility with older surveys. However, your Wave will continue to function without issues on all projects.
FAQs
Q: Why did my Wave downgrade?
A: If you're working on a survey (QR code) created before February 11, 2025, the Wave will adjust its firmware to match the original firmware used for that QR code. This ensures the data collected remains consistent and compatible with that survey.
Q: Will my Wave running older firmware still work with new projects?
A: Yes, your Wave will still function. It will update its firmware automatically to maintain compatibility with a new survey.
Q: If my wave automatically downgraded to older firmware, how do I upgrade it again?
A: Once downgraded, the Wave will remain on the older firmware until you create and use a new QR code. To upgrade your Wave back to the latest Micro Apps firmware:
- Create a new survey (QR code).
- Scan the new QR code with your wave connected to your mobile device—it will automatically upgrade to the latest firmware.
