As of February 11, 2025 all Waves are now eligible for upgrades to Micro Apps.
Getting Started
To get started, ensure your Mobile App is updated to the latest version. As of writing this, that is v46.
On your computer, navigate to either an existing or new project. Click "New Survey".
Like any other survey, scan the QR code on your mobile device. Then, connect and power on your Wave. A popup will ask you to update it, and the Wave will reboot several times.
The Waves screen will go black for a few minutes. After the update you will see a new screen with a list of applications
Tap the survey Micro App when you are ready to conduct any survey.
When you complete the survey or any Micro App, swipe up on the Wave to return to the main screen.
The Wave is designed without a traditional power-off button. Instead, when not in use, it automatically enters hibernation mode, which helps conserve battery life.
Adding Custom Micro Apps
The apps can be added via the Ethernet port if you are eligible for a Micro App not included in this firmware upgrade.
- Connect the Wave to a wired network that access to the internet.
- Select the Survey Micro App and wait for about 5 minutes
- Close the Survey Micro App
- The Wave will auto-install and license any Micro Apps that the Wave is eligible for.
