To begin, create a new project in Sidos Cloud or open an existing project and click the "New AP-on-a-Stick survey" button. A new QR code will be generated, compatible with the Sidos Mobile app version 38 or later.
Starting a new survey using the Sidos Mobile App
- To begin the survey, scan the QR code created above.
- Select the floor you want to survey.
- Create a new AP position by selecting the "No position selected" option and name the AP position. You can add, view, or rename existing positions at any time.
Once you define at least one AP position, select it so it turns black, then return to the previous screen and survey as necessary.
Analysing Survey Results in Sidos Cloud
On the overview screen, we have the option to select multiple SSIDs on the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands. The survey results from these SSIDs will be combined in the coverage view. This option enables support for various access point models used during an APoS survey, including those that broadcast their MAC address for APoS. It also allows for further customization. More information will be provided soon.
Click the edit button to select the SSIDs used for the APoS survey.
Select all the SSIDs, and select confirm.
The coverage view is now aggregated to include all selected SSIDs
All surveyed APs will be listed on the left side of the coverage screen under "Filtered APs." To remove an access point (AP) from the list, simply disable it.
AP Settings
This slider allows you to hide any access points (APs) that you do not wish to include in the report.
All access points (APs) that were used or detected while broadcasting the selected SSID for the AP-on-a-Stick survey will be displayed. If you choose to disable an AP, it will be shown as greyed out. These greyed-out APs will not be included in the final report.
