      Starting a Survey

      Fully Charge the Battery

      Before using the Sidos Wave, ensure the device is fully charged using a USB-C charger. The device supports fast charging and intelligently manages power to extend battery life.

      Download the Sidos App from the Apple App Store

      The Sidos Wave requires the Sidos iOS app to conduct surveys, which is available in the Apple App Store. Open the App Store on your iPhone, search for Sidos, or scan the QR code provided with your device. Download and install the app to proceed.

      Connect Sidos Wave to iOS device

      Once the app is installed, connect your Sidos Wave to your iPhone.

      • If you have a USB-C iPhone, connect directly with a USB-C cable.
      • If your iPhone has a Lightning port, use a certified Apple adapter and a compatible USB-A to USB-C cable. Connecting the Wave to your iOS device directly with a USB-C to Lightning cable will not work.

      Scan the Project QR Code

      To load the correct survey project, open the Sidos App and scan the Survey QR code displayed on your computer or provided by your team. This will automatically load the correct project on your mobile device. 

      Ensuring Sidos Wave is Connected and Ready to Survey

      To begin your survey, start the Sidos Survey Micro-App on the Sidos Wave.

      If the Sidos mobile app does not detect the Sidos Wave measurement device:

      • Ensure the Survey Micro-App is actively running on the Sidos Wave.
      • Disconnect and reconnect the cable between the Sidos Wave and your phone.
      • Wait a few moments for the connection to be re-established before proceeding.

      Before starting your survey, check the Wave device icon status in the top navigation bar of the Sidos mobile app.

      • If the icon is active, the device is connected and ready to use.
      • If the icon is grayed out, start the Survey Micro-App following the instructions above and wait for the connection to be established before proceeding.

      Starting the Survey

      Once your project is loaded:

      • Select the floorplan you want to survey.
      • Tap the record button to prepare for the survey.
      • When ready, tap the record button again to start data collection.

      The Sidos Wave will display a measurement counter to indicate that survey data is being recorded.
